Poverty has a woman’s face. Of the 1.3 billion people living in poverty around the world, 70% are women. And because women are often heads of households, they’re tasked with childcare, food and shelter. With the poverty level at $1.25 per day, it’s not hard to imagine poor women having to choose between food for her children or pads during her menstrual cycle.
